The annual migration of air-cooled Porsches is unique
Always innovating and trying something new, the eighth running of Petro Surf created experiences that made you want to go ‘wow’.
The German beach island of Sylt is overrun with the sound, and smell of air cooled Porsches.
The Warm Up
A scenic drive through Denmark to the secret start point for Petro Surf 8.0
With a backdrop of the historic Schackenborg castle and its ornate gardens, the party began. Exploring the grounds there were Porsches tucked into courtyards, beneath avenues of tress, in the stables and along the main drive.
A chance to say Hi to old friends, meet new ones and catch up on news.
The Beach
Driving on the beach is a unique experience, driving on the beach with 80 other air-cooled Porsches is something else.
You will find sand in every corner of your Porsche, but it is worth it.
The Ferry
The famous ferry, AKA the best car-park in the world. Petro Surf hires a private Ferry to take the air-cooled Porsches from Rømø to Sylt, where we are based for the next two days.
From the pre-party in the car park, to the welcome party on the Ferry it is a great start to the weekend.
The Sunset
Arriving on Sylt as the sun sets and it is time to capture the essence of the island, the dunes, the tall grasses, the hills.
Beach Party
The main event, the beach party on Sylt. A short summer thunderstorm just as we arrived did not dampen spirits and the sun was soon shining again.
Thank-you
Events like this take an army to curate and create. Ken (Hake Trading) and his team do an amazing job, over four locations and with a smile. Thank-you for what you create. We leave the ‘happy island’ with our hearts and souls full.
