Columbia Road Flower Market

I have been shopping for flowers and plants at the Columbia Road flower market for over 30 years.  It hasn't changed much at all in that time and remains a melting pot of locals and visitors.  The bagels and mugs of tea at the Columbia Cafe have resisted the move to fancy coffee's and smashed avocado.   On the fringes things do change, with artisanal coffee and my new favourite The Oyster Boy, aka Conor Pearson, a 'Shucker for hire'.

Brick Lane

From Columbia Road it is a hop and skip down to Brick Lane, enjoying the street art as you go.  Through the old Truman brewery buildings and you reach Spitalfields, the redeveloped market.   It wasn't a day for shooting street art,  I wanted to get down to the South Bank to shoot the skaters.

The City

Why take a bus when you can walk through the city, empty at the weekends, for odd view and empty streets

South Bank

And finally to the South Bank, to catch the skateboarders as they do their tricks and enjoy each others company under the arches, with a backdrop of street art.

If you like these sorts of shots, my first visit can be found HERE
